New Delhi, July 20: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024. Following a directive from the Supreme Court, the NTA released the state-wise and centre-wise data of the results on its official website.

Candidates can check and download their results by visiting the official website at NEET NTA Results using their login credentials.

On July 18, a Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra instructed the NTA to publish the NEET-UG results by July 20. The Court emphasized the need for transparency, ordering the results to be published separately for each city and centre by 12 noon on Saturday. This decision came after students petitioned for more transparency regarding the marks obtained at various centres.

The Supreme Court stated in its order, “The petitioners have submitted that it would be appropriate if the results of the NEET-UG 2024 exam are published on the website to enhance transparency on the centre-wise marks obtained by candidates. We direct the NTA to publish the marks obtained by students in the NEET-UG 2024 exam while ensuring the identity of the students is masked. The results should be declared in relation to each centre and city separately.”

The court will continue to hear pleas concerning alleged paper leaks and malpractices in the NEET-UG 2024 exam on July 22.

The NEET-UG 2024 exam, a crucial step for admissions into MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses in government and private institutions across India, was conducted on May 5. Approximately 24 lakh candidates appeared for the exam across 4,750 centres. The NTA, which faced severe criticism and legal actions due to alleged malpractices, had to respond to several questions from the Supreme Court regarding these allegations during the hearing.

For students and stakeholders, the detailed publication of results by centre and state aims to bring clarity and fairness to the examination process. The ongoing scrutiny and judicial oversight indicate a continued focus on ensuring integrity in the conduct and results of the NEET-UG exams.
