Tragic Helicopter Crash in Shivpuri, Nuwakot District

Kathmandu: On Wednesday afternoon, a tragic helicopter crash occurred in the Shivpuri area of the Nuwakot district in Nepal, resulting in the deaths of all five individuals on board. The helicopter, operated by Air Dynasty, had departed from Kathmandu and was en route to Syaphrubensi. The passengers included senior captain Arun Malla and four Chinese nationals traveling to Rasuwa.

According to local media, the helicopter took off from Kathmandu at 1:54 pm and lost contact with the ground just three minutes later at approximately 1:57 pm, after reaching Surya Chaur. Authorities have confirmed that the aircraft crashed in the Suryachaur area, northwest of Kathmandu.

Immediate Rescue Operations Initiated

Following the crash, rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) dispatched a Prabhu helicopter (9N-ANL) to assist with the rescue efforts. The fiery crash site presented significant challenges for the rescuers.

Identification of the Victims

Local news outlets have reported that the bodies of the pilot, Arun Malla, and three other individuals—two men and one woman—have been recovered from the crash site. Unfortunately, one body was found severely burned and remains unidentified at this time.

The crash has sent shockwaves through the local community and raised concerns about air travel safety in the region. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, while efforts continue to identify the remaining victim.
