Clad in G-Suite Modi was accompanied by IAF pilot as the Tejas took off from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) airport in Banagaluru.

Tejas are already part of the Indian Air Force fleet and it is an multi-role aircraft fully combat capable and considered best in class.

India has been showcasing this indigenously built aircraft at different international events including those held at Malaysia, Dubai and Sri Lanka.

Several countries have shown interest in buying Tejas and US based defence giant GE Aerospace had inked a deal with HAL to produce engines for the MK II Tejas.
