Guwahati, Feb 11: A sting operation by Panbazar Police in Guwahati on Saturday exposed a shocking sex racket operating under the guise of a spa and parlour. Following numerous complaints, authorities raided the Sea Salt Spa & Unisex Parlour in Ulubari, uncovering illicit activities involving young men and women.

The raid yielded startling results. Six individuals, including men and women, were apprehended inside a concealed and locked chamber at the parlour. Officials revealed that some of the women were from other states, suggesting an interstate trafficking ring.

Adding to the complexity, investigations unearthed a GMC license held by the spa and parlour for operating “extra” businesses. This has raised serious concerns about potential loopholes and lax oversight within the licensing system.

Further investigation is underway, with the owner, Nirmal Dutta, summoned for questioning. The incident highlights the need for stricter regulations and enforcement to prevent such illegal activities and ensure legitimate businesses operate within ethical and legal boundaries.
