Nagpur, Feb 21: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has announced the convening of its annual meeting, the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, scheduled to take place in Nagpur from March 15 to 17. As the paramount gathering of the RSS, the Pratinidhi Sabha will chart the course of the organization’s activities and initiatives for the upcoming year.
Sunil Ambekar, the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh, disclosed the event’s dates via the microblogging platform X, stating, “Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS): This year RSS’s Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (Annual General Meeting) will be on 15, 16 and 17th March 2024 at Nagpur.”
During the previous year’s Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha held in Samalkha, Haryana, discussions encompassed various pertinent issues, including the “population explosion” in India and the imperative of fostering “social harmony.” Sources within the Sangh highlighted the deliberations, indicating a substantial focus on addressing these critical concerns.
In particular, the issue of population control garnered significant attention during the gathering. With India grappling with the challenges posed by population growth, the meeting sought to explore viable solutions and strategies to mitigate this burgeoning problem. Emphasis was placed on identifying factors contributing to population expansion and devising measures to curb its adverse impacts.
According to Sangh sources, the demographic imbalance observed in certain regions of the country, notably in states bordering Bangladesh such as Bengal, Assam, and Bihar, emerged as a key area of concern. This demographic disparity underscores the urgency of implementing effective population management policies to address the associated socio-economic challenges.
