Guwahati, Feb 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for a two-day visit to Assam, where he will reside at Kaziranga National Park from March 8 to March 9. Assam Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary announced that the Prime Minister will arrive at the national park on the evening of March 8.

“He will embark on a tour of the national park on the morning of March 9. We have ensured arrangements for both elephant and jeep safaris for the Prime Minister. Today, in collaboration with Assam DGP and Chief Secretary, we have overseen security arrangements,” stated Chandra Mohan Patowary.

Accompanied by DGP GP Singh and Chief Secretary Paban Borthakur, the Assam Forest Minister visited the national park on Wednesday. A series of meetings with senior officials were held to finalize arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit. On March 9, Modi is slated to unveil a bronze statue of the legendary Ahom general, Lachit Barphukan, in Jorhat.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will address a public gathering at Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat. The Assam Forest Minister highlighted ongoing infrastructure development projects within the national park in anticipation of the Prime Minister’s visit.

Several infrastructure development initiatives are underway in the national park ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to the state.
