Golaghat, February 4: Seven trainees from Manipur were injured in a scuffle that erupted at the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Dergaon, Assam, on February 3, 2024. The incident reportedly occurred due to a disagreement over supper distribution between trainees from companies ‘A’ and ‘E’.

Assam DGP GP Singh confirmed the incident on his official handle on February 3rd, stating that the matter was resolved thanks to the intervention of the Range IGP and DIG Training. All seven injured trainees were shifted to Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH) for medical treatment.

While the exact cause of the disagreement remains unclear, the incident highlights potential issues within the academy regarding mess management or trainee relations. The Assam Police are likely to investigate the matter further to determine the cause and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

It is important to note that the scuffle does not necessarily reflect on the overall training program at the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy. However, it underscores the need for effective conflict resolution mechanisms and clear communication within the academy to ensure the well-being and safety of all trainees.
